An Idylic and tranquil setting
EXCELLENT Based on 35 reviews melly2932021-08-06Verified Peaceful hideaway, perfect base for a family holiday in Dartmoor We have had a wonderful week staying in Robin cottage with our two children aged 3 and 6. The cottage has everything necessary for a comfortable self-catered stay, it was lovely and clean and the beds are very comfortable. There are incredible panoramic views of Dartmoor from the cottage, garden, fire-pit and hot tub - which was most welcome after a day of exploring the outdoors. It is so quiet and peaceful. The alpacas and llamas are lovely animals to be around, and the children loved feeding them in the mornings. Diane and Steve are attentive hosts and very knowledgable about the area, in particular we appreciated their recommendations about which tors are most suitable for children to climb. All of the places we visited on their advice were great - we spent a lovely few days visiting the delights of Dartmoor and would not hesitate to recommend a break at Robin cottage. Thank you Diane and Steve, we will be back! Suzanne W2021-08-02Verified Home from home in the middle of Dartmoor This unusual cottage is all on one level with very spacious living room/sun room and a well appointed kitchen. The shower room is large and there are two bedrooms at the rear. It is the position that makes it so special with breath taking views from the sun room and Llamas and chickens in the next field! There is outside decking and a garden and even a hot tub. If you are looking for a peaceful break it is ideal. We like to walk and it provides great access to Dartmoor. As it is in Dartmoor National Park you will need a car to get around to other attractions whether in Dartmoor or further afield but it is the fact that it is off the beaten track that appeals to us. Finally the hosts are lovely as they are helpful and approachable and have a wealth of knowledge about the area. There was even a cream tea waiting for us on arrival. Highly recommended Thirzie H2021-08-02Verified Incredible views and wonderful hosts We were working in the area and stayed at the Robin holiday cottage. The lovely hosts went above and beyond to help us! The homemade scones on arrival were delicious and the views are stunning. Thanks so much Sunshinegirl26uk2019-12-28Verified Beautiful Robin Cottage Perfect for a peaceful Dartmoor holiday. We will be returning for the 3rd time this summer! Lovely cream tea on arrival. Cozy rooms. Lovely hosts and great for my daughter (6) who helped feed the alpacas. Wi FI no issues. Thank you again. Gary T2019-12-28Verified Great place for peaceful break Newcott farm cottages are a little bit off the beaten track but if you don't mind jumping in car thats not a problem. If you are after a peaceful relaxing break then this is a perfect place waking up to alpacas on your doorstep horses in the fields, big patio windows looking out to view of surrounding wildlife. Great place simontremain2018-08-12Verified Fabulous week on Dartmoor Great week spent in Wren cottage. Lovely accommodation, location and excellent base for exploring Dartmoor. Was a home from home by the end of the week and a wrench to leave. If you have not already seen and have time, I would highly recommend a half day walk with the Llama and Alpacas. Just ask Diane and Steve about. Best meal out during our week was at the 'Hound of the Baskervilles' in nearby Ashburton. Looking forward to staying again in the future at Newcott Farm Cottages. wvds20162017-08-02Verified Great cottage, great views, We had a great fortnight in lovely Robin Cottage. Enjoyed the amazing views, and of course the Alpacas (and birds, rabbits, squirrel, deer..... ) Beautiful Dartmoor on the doorstep. We will certainly come back for more. Tim W2017-07-29Verified Glorious Dartmoor location. Robin Cottage very comfortable. Owners Diane and Steve so friendly and welcoming, and the Alpacas were pretty friendly too. Ideal base for walking moors and valleys. Good local birdlife. Great to revisit some old haunts. fzielhorst2017-04-04Verified heaven on earth Absolutely perfect place to stay. Amazing location on Dartmoor, with a lot of space inside the cottage, a good bed and the most amazing view. Very highly recommended if you are looking for some quiet and want to enjoy nature literally at your doorstep. TheNorfolks2017-03-13Verified Haven of tranquility in beautiful surroundings Another great stay. Wren cottage is marvellous. Well equipped with everything we need. The main room has great views and is light and airy. Wish we could get here more often; we're certainly looking forward to our next visit. Diane and Steve are always very welcoming and yes, the cream tea when we arrived quickly disappeared.
